Biography
Hello! I’m Francesca Mommo, I live in Dresden (DE) and work as a freelance dancer, teacher, choreographer and video maker. I graduated in 2017 in Choreography (B.A.) at the National Dance Academy of Rome (IT). For my first career leap, I was invited as a choreographer for the 41st and 43rd Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte. In 2019, after being an Erasmus+ guest student at Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden, I began my freelance journey across Europe, including Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic, and internationally, like the by the American Dance Festival (ICR) 2024. I worked on various productions with Villa\Wigman, re-Publik Performance, and C.O.R.E., while also pursuing parallel research projects on audiovisual art and the history of modern dance in Europe, in collaboration with Olimpia Scardi. I am currently a part time student in the Master’s program of Dance Pedagogy at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden, being involved in enriching educational projects combining dance, music and other art forms. Gathering so many stimuli from different fields, I consider myself an interdisciplinary artist, a dreamer, but above all… a 100% daily learner. And I love the way my profession makes me feel… it makes me doubt about things, it makes me think, it makes me move, it gives me continuous growth.
