Caspar, Glückwunsch! Wir feiern mit
From the schoolyard break to Romanticism – we celebrate Caspar David Friedrich!
Children from Königstein and Papstdorf step into his landscapes, feeling their colours, their horizons, and letting figures dance.
Between sketches, gestures, and rehearsals: the role of the choreography and dance assistant is to support the artistic team, refine movements, shape transitions, and gently guide children into improvisation and expression. Acting as a bridge between artistic direction and the dance moments, this role translates ideas into embodied experiences, pays attention to rhythm and timing, accompanies group work, and helps develop mini-choreographies from spontaneous movement images.
In honour of the 250th birthday of Caspar David Friedrich, whose work was strongly influenced by the Saxon Switzerland landscapes, Kulturbaude und Landkunst e.V. is celebrating with a special initiative: Caspar, Congratulations! We Celebrate with You. Children from Kindertagesstätte Felsenzwerg (Papstdorf) and Wichtelhaus (Königstein) are invited to dance, play, and breathe new life into the Romantic motifs that surround their everyday world.
With dance, theatre, self-made puppets, and music, a collective work emerges – playful, curious, and close to the children’s own experiences. Along the Painter’s Way, in the hall of the Heymannbaude, a space opens for experimentation, encounters, and reinterpretations.
After several days of intensive rehearsals, the children presented their own dance and puppet theatre:
Caspar, Congratulations! We Celebrate with You.
